Crittr

This run has one useful reference rather than a major development. It is worth a note because it argues against treating AI search as an excuse to discard the less glamorous fundamentals of SEO.

AI search optimization still starts with SEO fundamentals (note)

Crittr verdict: ⚖️ Situational

A newly published guide outlines how websites can prepare for answer engines while retaining the traditional SEO practices that also support conventional search visibility. It is vendor-produced reference material, not evidence that every company suddenly needs a separate AEO program.

This is most relevant to content-heavy businesses that depend on organic discovery. Those teams now have another visibility surface to monitor, but creating parallel processes for SEO and AEO could add work before the traffic or customer-acquisition value is clear.

Technicole take: Treat AEO as a change in how content may be found and summarized, not as a mandate to rebuild the content operation. Preserve the underlying SEO discipline, then decide whether answer-engine visibility deserves dedicated effort based on measurable discovery and traffic—not the existence of a new acronym.

The practical move is extension before reinvention. If an AEO initiative cannot identify what changes beyond existing SEO work or how its contribution will be measured, it is probably a renamed backlog.
